Recognizing that lasting peace begins with informed and compassionate young people, JCI Baliwag Buntal launched Project CenterPEACE (Sentro ang Kabataan sa Usaping Pangkapayapaan) on June 18, 2026 at Baliuag University—a meaningful initiative that promotes peace education and inspires young leaders to become advocates of unity, understanding, and positive change.  

As the pilot institution of the program, Baliuag University became the first academic community to implement the CenterPEACE framework, with Baliuag University Basic Education pupils serving as its primary beneficiaries. Anchored on the pillars of Peace Awareness, Peace Education, and Peace Partnership, the initiative equipped young learners with the knowledge, values, and leadership skills needed to become advocates of peace, kindness, respect, and responsible citizenship.  

In partnership with dedicated peace advocates, resource speakers, and community organizations, the launch gathered educators, youth leaders, civic organizations, local government representatives, and community partners in a shared commitment to advancing peace through education. Interactive forums, leadership workshops, anti-bullying and empathy sessions, and peace awareness campaigns encouraged pupils to understand that peace begins with everyday actions and extends to their families, schools, and communities.  

A key milestone of the initiative was the appointment of the first CenterPEACE Youth Ambassadors (CYA) from Baliuag University Basic Education. Through specialized leadership training, these student leaders were empowered to serve as role models and advocates who would promote empathy, collaboration, conflict resolution, and responsible citizenship among their peers.  

To ensure the sustainability of the initiative, it formalized its partnership with Baliuag University through a Memorandum of Understanding and conferred the Seal of CenterPEACE, recognizing the University's commitment to peace education and youth development. This collaboration established a strong foundation for expanding the program to more schools and communities while reinforcing the University's role as the pioneering partner of the initiative.  

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals on Quality Education (SDG 4), Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17), Project CenterPEACE demonstrates how investing in young learners can cultivate a culture of peace. Through education, leadership, and collaboration, the initiative continues to inspire the next generation of peace builders and responsible citizens.
