As Baliuag University celebrates its 25th year as a university, its commitment to academic excellence continues to extend beyond the classroom and across national boundaries. The University demonstrated this commitment through the International Research Colloquium on Multidisciplinary Trends in Academic Research (IRC MTAR), hosted by the Baliuag University (BU) Center for Research and Development (CfRD) on October 25, 2025, at the BU Bahay na Bato and via Zoom. Through this event, researchers, educators and students from the Philippines and various countries were brought together with one purpose: to shape global minds through research and collaboration.
The hybrid setup became a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas, highlighting how research goes beyond academic papers and unites scholars in addressing today's trends and challenges. By welcoming both local and international participants, Baliuag University upheld its commitment to nurturing a research culture that embraces innovation and global engagement.
One of the highlights of the colloquium was the keynote address on Quantum Intelligence in Education, which emphasized how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming research processes. The session demonstrated how these technologies can help researchers analyze data and develop solutions to complex problems. More importantly, it encouraged participants to embrace emerging technologies as tools for creating more impactful and efficient research.
The colloquium also showcased a diverse collection of research papers presented by scholars from the Philippines and abroad. These presentations reflected the depth of multidisciplinary research, covering a wide range of topics and demonstrating innovative methodologies, practical applications, and evidence-based solutions. Each presentation contributed valuable insights while encouraging meaningful discourse among participants from different academic backgrounds.
Beyond this, the University, through the CfRD, continues to strengthen its research culture by providing comprehensive support to faculty members. Recognizing that research dissemination is essential to academic excellence and institutional growth, the Center offers Research Presentation Grants that assist faculty researchers in presenting their scholarly work at both local and international conferences. Through this initiative, numerous faculty members have successfully shared their research at prestigious academic conferences across the Philippines and abroad. These opportunities not only enhance the professional development of faculty researchers but also reinforce the University's commitment to producing research that contributes to both national and international academic communities.
More than academic gatherings, these initiatives reflect Baliuag University's dedication to internationalization by empowering its academic community to connect, collaborate and produce research that transcends borders. Through the continued support provided by the CfRD, the University strengthens its role as a center of research excellence, fostering meaningful partnerships and advancing knowledge that responds to the needs of an increasingly interconnected world.
