Baliuag University proudly marks its centennial year, celebrating a century of academic excellence, community service, and transformative leadership. With the theme “Celebrating our heritage, embracing our radiant future” (Ipagbunyi pamana ng kahapon, yakapin maningning na bukas), this year’s festivities honored BU’s rich history while looking ahead to new opportunities for growth and innovation.
The celebration opened with the BUAA Legado Festival on February 8, a colorful motorcade and dynamic street dancing showdown that united students, alumni, faculty, and the Baliwag community in cultural pride and joy.
On February 11, the BU Fiesta brought together tradition and camaraderie with a thanksgiving mass, the unveiling of the Centennial Mango Tree marker, and the launch of the BU Centennial Song and AVP. Theater performances, cultural games, and dances highlighted BU’s creativity and enduring Filipino spirit.
February 13 honored service and talent through Buklod, the University Service Awards recognizing 34 employees for up to 50 years of dedication, and Lakan at Lakambini, a pageant showcasing the grace, intelligence, and leadership of BU’s students.
Capping the week was the BUAA Gala Night on February 14, an elegant gathering of alumni and friends, celebrating the bonds forged over generations.
From its beginnings as Baliuag Institute in 1925 to its transformation into a CHED-recognized autonomous university, BU has nurtured leaders and innovators across fields—arts, education, health sciences, engineering, IT, business, and more. Its commitment to quality education, social responsibility, and forward-looking programs remains steadfast, with future initiatives focusing on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and leadership development.
As Baliuag University turns 100, it not only honors its storied past but also embraces the promise of the next century.
