Be the Best U can be! Successful Alumni Stories

I can proudly say that my experiences during college days helped a lot to bring me to where I am right now. Back in college, I was then a Gintong Ani scholar which inspired me to study harder and maintain good grades. Part of the scholarship benefits was an opportunity to take free English classes and communications training. I was also a member of BU Advocates, where I represented my department along with other students. Being a BU Advocate helped build my confidence to speak in front of a crowd and deal with people from different walks of life. My favorite part was encouraging high school students to pursue college and reach for their dreams.

Not only that, my BU-CITE family also did outreach programs where together, students and professors rendered service to people in need. An unforgettable outreach experience I volunteered for involved computer training of barangay officials, police officers, teachers, among others. It was personally very fulfilling to see people with limited computer skills and knowledge to actually type a document and even make a PowerPoint presentation. Sharing what you know and what you have is indeed a rewarding experience.

This is what BU taught me; this is what I learned: that for us to become the best version of ourselves, we must inspire others to bring out the best in them, too. That way, we all succeed together.
