Baliuag University (BU) continues to reach new heights by expanding its influence across all educational functions. True to this mission, BU not only produces significant research outputs but also ensures their widespread dissemination.
BU faculty members from the College of Information Technology Education (CITE) and the College of Liberal Arts and General Education (CLAGE) recently presented their research at international conferences. Dean Clarissa Vicente of CITE, in collaboration with another regional university, presented her research titled “Content Analysis of Institutional Policies on the Use of AI in Top HEIs” at the International Conference on Information Technology and Communication Engineering in Hanoi, Vietnam, in November 2023. At the same conference, CITE faculty members Dr. Rowel Santos and Ana Lizel del Poso presented their research, “Faculty Evaluation Decision-Based System with Sentiment Analysis Using Naive Bayes Algorithm.”
Last December 2023, Dr. Frederick Inoncillo and Dr. Sammy Isidro Pagaduan joined an academic expedition in Hanoi, Vietnam through The Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) Conference 2023. The conference, which brought together researches from various fields, was a forum where urgent issues about general education were discussed. Dr. Inoncillo presented his research entitled, “Perceived Effectiveness Teachers’ Self Efficacy and Work Engagement: Groundwork for an Upskilling Plan,” while Dr. Pagaduan presented his research entitled “Participation of Selected Universities and Colleges in Central Luzon in International Training and Research Conferences.”
In April 2024, Dr. Inoncillo participated in the GEO-Global Educators Organization: International Educators’ Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. This event focused on innovative teaching methodologies and global educational strategies. Dr. Inoncillo delivered impactful presentations on his recent research and educational practices, including his paper entitled, “Mathematics Anxiety and Numerical Anxiety as Predictors of Achievement in Mathematics”. His participation underscored the College's dedication to implementing and sharing cutting-edge teaching techniques and educational improvements.
Most recently, Dr. Inoncillo, Yolanda Marfil and Veronica Santiago, attended the ASAIHL Conference 2024 last June 2024 at Juntendo University in Tokyo, Japan. Known for its emphasis on academic excellence and innovation, this conference provided a platform for the faculty to present their latest research findings and engage in high-level discussions with educators and researchers from around the world with the title of “Unveiling The Learning Management System Acceptance Among Selected University Students: A Blueprint For An Action Plan”. Their contributions to the conference highlighted the College's ongoing efforts to stay at the forefront of educational advancements and policy developments.
Dr. Frederick Inoncillo and Dr. Sammy Isidro Pagaduan, faculty members from CLAGE, presented their research at the Association of Southeast Asian Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL) Conference, also in Hanoi, Vietnam, in December 2023. Dr. Inoncillo’s research, titled “Perceived Canvas Effectiveness, Teacher's Self-Efficacy, and Work Engagement: Groundwork for an Upskilling Plan,” and Dr. Pagaduan’s research, “Participation of Selected Universities and Colleges in Central Luzon in International Training and Research Conferences,” were well received.
These research endeavors demonstrate BU’s strong commitment to advancing the practice of research. The most important aspect of any research endeavor is the effective utilization of its findings to create a meaningful impact. Moreover, seizing opportunities to present at international conferences not only showcases the university’s commitment to academic excellence and global engagement, but also allows for an exchange of new approaches and intellectual strategies. For Dr. Inoncillo, for example, it was an enriching experience that not only broadened his academic horizons but also allowed him to contribute his views to the global education.
