BU Sports Development Office

Welcome to Baliuag University Sports Development Program. We believe in the power of sports to foster teamwork, discipline, and a lifelong commitment to health and fitness. Our sports programs are designed to nurture talent, encourage participation, and support the holistic development of our students.

Our Vision

To cultivate a vibrant sports culture where every student has the opportunity to participate, excel, and experience the benefits of physical activity. We aim to develop not only skilled athletes but also responsible individuals who value sportsmanship and fair play.

Our Goals

   Develop the fullest potential of athletes who will represent the university in different competitions

   Promote overall health awareness among members of the university through recreational and sports activities

   Promote character development activities and programs for university student-athletes

   Circulate university sports undertakings

 

Programs Offered

 

·         Intramural Sports

Sports Offered: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Table Tennis, and Chess.

How to Join: Students can sign up at the beginning of each semester. Teams are formed based on interest, and games are scheduled throughout the year.

 

·         Varsity Teams

Sports Offered: Basketball, Volleyball, Track and Field, Chess, Badminton and Table Tennis

Training Schedule: Regular training sessions are held before/after school hours, with additional practices as needed before major competitions.

Selection Process: Tryouts are held at the beginning of the school year. Students are evaluated based on skill, fitness level, and attitude.

 

Student-Athlete Scholarship Program

           The Student-Athlete Scholarship is given to students who are actively involved in sports activities and possess an athletic skill and potential

           Student-Athletes are entitled to discounts on tuition fees for a maximum of 15 units

Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, the following conditions must be met by the student :

• carry a minimum load of 15 units and a maximum load of 18 units in a regutar trimester (except for graduating students),

• no grade of W (dropped) or X (no final examination) or failing grade in any courses enrolled in a given trimester within the school year

• fit practices and training schedule into their class schedule,

• be physically fit as certified by the University physician,

• pass the performance evaluation conducted by the Sports Development Office of the University at the end of every trimester

• not subjected to any disciplinary action while studying in the University, and

• no outstanding balance in their account from the previous trimester.

 

Achievements

We are proud of our student-athletes who have achieved remarkable success in various sports. The Hornets have won numerous titles, and many of our athletes have gone on to compete in different competitions.
