Building Up The University's 5K Program
Now on its 2nd year, the 5K Committee was reorganized to encourage engagement of more employees and students. New and worthwhile projects and activities were introduced to further strengthen the implementation of the University’s prime program.
The BU Supreme Student Council, supported by the various accredited student organizations, launched the slogan writing contest. The SSITE - Society of Students in Information Technology Education’s entry will be the official theme for school year 2010-2011 – “Responsibilidad ko Disiplina Ko, sa 5K Ibibida Ko.” The Monthly Search for the Best Janitor was also launched. This aims to recognize the hardwork and diligence to duty of the maintenance personnel.
The Health and Wellness Team introduced the “Biggest Loser” Contest. The employee category will be directly taken cared of by the Medical Services Department, while the Students category is a project of the Student Organizations. This aims to instill awareness on the significance of fitness and healthy lifestyle.
The Environment Team, supported by a student organization (Students Action Vital to the Environment and Mother Earth Movement), collaborated with the MCM Eco Chem Management Corporation in the Integrated Solid Waste Management Program which will be piloted at the Annex3.
Innovative and responsive projects are still to be implemented to assure fulfillment of the 5K Program’s advocacy: that is to ensure clean, safe, and healthy campus environment for everyone at Baliuag U.
