College of Education

We prepare our students to become effective educational leaders through quality, relevant programs that  connect  teaching,  learning  and  practice.  But  more  than  that,  you  will  also  be  trained  to  become a competent, caring and effective educator. The College of Education prepares you as future teachers, through  various  opportunities  for  teaching  and  learning,  to  be  efficient  managers  and  facilitators  of diverse types of learners to help them reach their potentials.

Our Programs

Bachelor of Early Childhood Education NEW

This four-year program provides students with fundamental understanding of the principles of early childhood care and education, as well as experience in their application. Aligned with the National Early Learning Framework, the National Competency Based Teacher Standards, and the first key stage (K to 3), it aims to educate individuals to be competent early childhood practitioners for children 0 to 8 years old in various early childhood settings (home, community, school and workplace).

Career Opportunities

Having been trained in the teaching and supporting of young children’s development, graduates have a broad range of employment opportunities available to them, such as careers in government or private educational institutions.

Bachelor of Elementary Education Level IV 1st Reaccredited Status

This program prepares prospective elementary school teachers to become molders of the youth and effective educational leaders. It aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for elementary education.

Career Opportunities

In the Philippines or abroad, you can be an educator in many forms—classroom teacher, school administrator, guidance or teacher counselor, superintendent, or college faculty, among others. Beyond the campus, you can be a private tutor, trainer, coordinator, resource person, or community adviser.

Bachelor of Secondary Education  Level IV 1st Reaccredited Status

Majors: Filipino, English, Mathematics, Science

This program has been designed to provide training in the theory and concepts, methods and strategies, required of high school teachers. It equips prospective secondary education teachers with the adequate and relevant competencies to teach in their chosen area of specialization/major in the secondary level.

Career Opportunities

Upon completion of the program, you may pursue a career as an educator in many forms here and abroad— classroom teacher specializing in a particular subject, school administrator, guidance or teacher counselor, superintendent, or college faculty, among others. Bachelor of Library and Information Science Candidate Status

This program prepares prospective elementary school teachers to become molders of the youth and effective educational leaders. It aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for elementary education.

Career Opportunities

BLIS graduates may become a librarian in various areas—school, acquisitions, corporate, law, medical; or hold a position as teacher- librarian or head librarian, as well as become an archivist, bibliographer, documentarist, information specialist, researcher, electronic resource manager, or library science faculty.

Bachelor of Physical Education NEW

Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) is a four year program aimed at equipping graduates with the competencies to meet the psychomotor, cognitive and affective needs of learners.  Physical Education is allied with the exercise and sports sciences, life sciences and the social sciences.

As a teaching profession, PE is a seamless activity of designing and delivering learning activities, providing quality instruction, managing the classroom, and assessing student learning, modeling as well as mentoring. This requires a deep, broad and integrated knowledge of the subject matter and its learners. Physical Education aimed at physical literacy, which serves as the foundation for confident, enjoyable and sustained participation in a wide range of physical activities. It also aims to optimize health through learning experiences aimed at the formation of physical activity and healthy eating habits, as well as dispositions.

• School-based Sports Program and Events Moderator/Coordinator

Certificate in Teacher Education (CTE)

The CTE program intends to equip non-educational professionals with the knowledge and skills related to the Teaching-Learning process necessary to take the LET and to qualify themselves to competently teach all levels.

Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Alternative Learning System

The PB-DALS program is a 30-unit post- baccalaureate program with the primary goal of providing appropriate tertiary education responsive to the need for competent and committed alternative learning system practitioners. Specific courses are: The Theories and Principles of ALS (5 units), Content, Pedagogy and Andragogy (16 units) and Application (9 units).

Career Opportunities

Holders of this diploma may pursue a career as ALS Learning Facilitators for the basic literacy learners (illiterates), as instructional managers of functional literacy learners (elementary and high school drop outs), or as informal education/community developers.
